HEY, YOU SWEET THING

Thursday, January 30, 2014

I'll be posting this party over at momsbestnetwork.com
A very sweet and oh so pink party, I happened to through this party for my YW,
You can see the ideas + printables here at this post.
But I'm going to switch it up a bit and switch this up for a little girls themed party.
Stay tuned.

But in the meantime I'll be picking out  a new sink & buy counters for our kitchen.

Oh, and lesson learned NEVER buy a used dishwasher, it wont work, than you'll have to call a repair man and it will cost more than you paid for it, annoyingly enough lesson learned!

COTTON CANDY TOPPED

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

Trust me you need these cotton candy topped cupcakes,
I'll post a short tutorial on them but here's the main gist,
White cupcake mix, I make mine ahead of time
& freeze them so the cake becomes heavy

Cream cheese frosting:

1 package cream cheese
1 stick of butter
Vanilla-splash
1 8oz pack of powered sugar

cream butter & cream cheese together, add vinilla, slowly add powered sugar,
I like my frosting thick so I can pipe it, so I add a lot of powered sugar.
add food color, if desired.

I bought cotton candy from our local dollar store, it comes in a clear container mixed with pink and blue.
Walmart I think has some, or if you just happen to have a cotton candy machine, ha use that!
I took a clump of pink cotton candy and formed it into a ball, do NOT role just form it with your fingers.
Add the candy to a tooth pick..
YOUR DONE!

so sweet, and so simple. enjoy!

If you want to see photos from our Young Women in Excellence that we used these for these see this post.

PARTY CANDLES

Suedo tutorial on these DIY candles.
I bought my candles at my local dollar store for $1
I thought how fun would these be to celebrate a small event like job promotion, finishing something, or just a good day!

I hated the colors so I paint them. Here's how to make these:

Step 1: Tape off candles, paint with acrylic paint or spray paint. Let dry.
Step 2: Make your cupcakes, Frost them. I happen to love this tip from Sweet Estelle
Use a pastry bag & frosting tip. If you dont have a pastry bag use a ziploc baggie.
pstt.. I used canned frosting, today i'm a cheater.
Step 4: Add your candles to your freshly frosted cupcakes
Step 5: Light those bad boys & enjoy!

Make everyday special!
