We had the BEST day at the Iowa State Fair!
Luckily we only live a few hours from the fair so we took the day off and headed there with my husbands parents. There was horses, cows, pigs, sheep, and so many animals to look at, charlie really loved petting the miniature horses.... I foresee a horse themed birthday party in our future in a few short months. The State Fair also had the cutest "Little Hands on the Farm" where each child got the opportunity to get an apron, a bucket, and a shovel and plant the seeds in the garden, pick the produce, harvest the corn & soy beans, shear the sheep, and milk the cow. Once they were done with doing all these tasks they got to take their produce + harvest to the market where they sold their items, collect a dollar and buy a treat from the grocery store, it was the cutest idea! She also got to go to the splash pad, and see the famous butter cow.
If you haven't had the opportunity to go check out your state fair, go, it's so much fun!
