bringing home baby.

Friday, August 7, 2015

So I'm kinda new on the whole bring home baby thing, but I've been reading lots on pinterest.
My favorite what to pack blog article is this one, I mean seriously it was so informative + how darling is Alexa's sweet baby girl? So I'm just starting my hunt some little onesies + some other basics! If you have any recommendation let me know!  I did order this little hat for the babe, since our fall baby is coming in November it might be a little chilly for her. So a little hat for her little head to keep warm, might be needed. Click the number below (left to right, top to bottom)

Also I'll be packing for myself & of course bring my camera so I can grab some photos of little miss once she gets here. I want to make sure to have a few cute blankets + headbands for those first photos in the hospital but most importantly I want to make sure everything if soft and comfortable for her, soft swaddles, blankets, and of course soft little sleepers + long sleeve onesies, I love the kimono wrapped onesie... so, so sweet!

Essentials: Swaddle Blankets, Sleepers, Long Sleeve Onesie, Hair Bow, Car Seat, Car Seat Cover, Warm Blanket, Socks, Hat (for crisp fall weather), Mittens, Pacifiers

Baby Girl.

Wednesday, August 5, 2015

Oh sweet baby girl, although we cant pick a name for you, we love you so much.
We recently started reading to her at nights in her room. Her dad reads and I just sit in the rocker and listen. Our love for you is incredible, I never knew I could ever love someone I've never met, but I do love you so much. So we're so close to having her little room done, seriously I leave all the doors open so I can look in when I walk by and just think. This little room is my very favorite in the entire house.

We're getting so close, just some drawers in the closet. A few decorative accents, a few shelves + frames on the wall, and we should be done. I can't wait to do the full bedroom reveal over at Mom's Best + a little rumor has it a giveaway will be included! Stay tune!

PREPPING THE NURSERY.

Wednesday, July 22, 2015

Hello! Today I'm over on Mom's Best sharing these easy DIY drawer lines that are done with gift wrap! As we begin our final few month countdown we are prepping this little babe's of our nursery. We all know I have a minor, or large, obsession with pretty drawers! So I knew these sweet little girl needed something special in her drawer! Although I'll be opening them 90% of the time when she's little when she bigger, getting toys out of the bottom drawers, or just doing little busy toddler things, I know she will adore these just as much as her mama! I mean that goat paper is to die for!

Here's what I used:
Double Stick Tape
Scissors
Ruler

For these liners I hopped on over to Spoonflower, found this super cute design and ordered a roll of custom gift wrap.   This is a website where creative people upload their designs and you can buy them. You can have the designs printed on wallpaper, gift wrap, fabric, and a few other options! If your brave enough you can also create your own design, upload it and have it printed. Alright enough about that, if you’re looking for this fun goat pattern you can find it here.

room details via Mom's Best

Guess what? We're having a sweet baby girl!!
We couldn't be more excited. Seriously, I think I was in shock when they told us,
Like no way... I thought it was certainly going to be boy, but this sweet baby girl will be joining us in November, and she will be only the 3rd baby girl on my husbands dad's side of the family. I'm telling you girls are rare around there. We're still picking names, but the husband says we can't name her until we see her tiny little face. In the meantime we're sharing her room inspo. over at Mom's Best You can check out all the goodies over there!

In the meantime stay tune I'll be sharing some DIY + room sneak peaks as we get ready for her arrival! Check out my Instagram to see how we told our family!

We All Scream for Ice Cream

Tuesday, June 23, 2015

Supplies:
Ice Cream Sandwiches
Sprinkles
Paper Cups
Lemonade Packages
Paper Straws
Mini Scoop
*throw in some fun party must haves

Assemble + surprise!

Seriously, can you believe that it's nearly 98 degree here? I mean okay, well except for you crazies who live in the "hot climates" that reach 115 degrees on a regular basis. But Iowa summers, are like 90% humidity mixed with 98 degrees, it's like you walk outside a suffocate from the smeltering heat.
So in lieu of a little hot summer loving here a little box to put of ice cream treats to cool off from those hot summer days. Ice cream sandwiches + sprinkles + cups with little packages of lemonade, the perfect summery box!

We're having a baby!

Friday, June 19, 2015

Um, I think I missed this post? Maybe, but I'm sure you've seen on instagram...
WE'RE HAVING A BABY! Yes, A tiny little baby will be joining our family come November!
And we are so excited! Like 9 out of 10 of our conversations are about this baby, "who's the baby going to look like?" "Will it be a boy or girl" "I wonder if the baby will like this.." Seriously we do a lot of baby talk around this house! So I guess you could say we're excited.

But I do have to apologize for my lack of blogging DIY love, around here.
Because I wasn't quite feeling myself, and I kept wondering, will I ever love DIY'ing again? The answer is YES, I'm BACK in full force. This baby is doing good, I'm doing good, & I've felt the tiniest movements this week, it's be absolutely incredible. Last night I was laying in bed, after my ice cream sandwich treat, horrible, let's just not tell my doctor that. And this baby was moving like crazy, I was at home alone and all I could do was just laugh. Laugh but be so absolutely in love at the same time. So I'll be sharing some room inspo./ room progress ect., but don't worry the DIY's at here to stay. And since my sister is also expecting in October, we're throwing on heck of a combined baby shower so I'll be sharing that goodness to!

p.s. I shared more of these announcement photos we took over at Moms Best.
